- The card has an annual fee of $450 that is not waived the first year.
Bonus Restrictions
Note that American Express currently has a “one bonus, per product, per lifetime” policy. You are only eligible for this bonus if you have not had this card before.
American Express also limits the amount of credit cards that you can have to 5 cards at one time (occasionally 6). This does not include charge cards.
American Express does sometimes have targeted offers with no once per lifetime language. Reports say people are able to get the bonus a second time when using these offers.
Conclusion
The American Express Delta Reserve Business credit card is a great tool for Delta flyers looking to achieve status quicker or to bump up to the next level of status. Now with an extra 30,000 miles in the welcome offer, it makes even more sense to grab it.
For the casual flyer, or someone who isn’t loyal to Delta, this card is not really worth it. The Delta Reserve’s earning structure is the same as cheaper versions in the Delta lineup, like the Delta Gold Skymiles credit card.

This is the worst card for lounge access. Every other card gives you free access plus 2 at least two other people with you. This Delta card grants access to only one person. Anyone else with you and they must pay $29 per person. That’s insane.
AA card gives me lounge access plus 2 guests for free. And any authorized users are granted access as well.
United allows you to bring in guests for free and pays 1.5¢ per $dollar spent rather than the puny 1x for anything except Delta.
It is the same with the Amex Plat card so I think it is a Delta thing. This is a card for business travelers or people looking to get status through spend really. Or just to pad your Skymiles account right now. But yeah the lounge access is pretty sad. It would be a pretty popular card if they allowed guests.
