Amex Gold Card Fee Increase
The Amex Gold card is a popular product that earns 4X Membership Rewards on dining and supermarkets and offers $20 in monthly credits ($10 each for Uber and Dining). Occasionally we also see big welcome bonuses, which is why may readers probably have it, or have had this card in the past.
However, monthly credits are a bit of a hassle and when it comes to earning points, there are more options available. And that’s why just yesterday, Benjy wrote about this card and why it isn’t as valuable as it used to be.
Well, if Benjy doesn’t like this card when it has a $250 annual fee, I’ll bet he’ll hates it when it jumps to $325. And that fee increase seems to be coming soon.
The new $325 annual fee is already showing through internal American Express links. These types of pages will often show upcoming changes or offers, such as the increased Hilton Honors bonuses that launched yesterday.
But what else is changing on the Amex Gold Card? For now this page shows no shake-up in benefits and earning rates. I doubt that American Express will just increase the annual fee by $75 and just leave everything the same.
What changes would you hope for if the annual fee goes up to $325?

We live in a smaller town so resy would be almost useless to us if added. How about making the $10 credit useful for ANY restaurant & not just a tiny selection?
[…] Oh No! Amex Gold Card Fee Jumping to $325? – Miles to Memories […]
I’d like to see an increase in the earning rate for restaurants, but I don’t think they’ll do that.
I bet a Resy credit will be added.
