Amex Kabbage Checking $300 Bonus

Amex Kabbage Checking $300 Bonus

American Express launched a checking account called Kabbage Checking back in June. This is an account for small businesses that offers an impressive annual percentage yield of 1.10%.

Then in July, we saw a targeted promotion for a $300 bonus when opening one of these accounts. Now this same offer is publicly available. Let’s take a look at the details.

Update 12/15/21: This offer ends today.

Update 12/7/21: Mark and his wife both had our bonuses post. They made the debit card transactions on 10/21 and the $300 posted on 11/28.  The offer is still available for another week. Some have reported issues opening the account in our Facebook Group but they both got approved and the bonus posted easily.  Being logged into your Amex account may help.

The Offer

Earn a $300 cash deposit into your Kabbage Checking account after you complete a total of 5 debit card purchases within 45 days of account opening. You must apply and be approved by 12/15/2021.

Once you have completed all the above eligibility requirements, the $300 cash deposit will be deposited into your Kabbage Checking account between 45 to 90 calendar days from the date your Kabbage Checking account was opened.

  • The Kabbage Checking Account is provided by Green Dot Bank.

  1. But unless you truly have a business the vast majority of readers will not be able to get this account.

    These are required documents:
1-A pdf of the most recent one month’s bank statement, directly downloaded from your bank account

2-Color copy of your Government Issued ID (Driver’s License, Passport, permanent resident card)

3-Organizational Documents (Articles of Incorporation OR Certificate of Incorporation).

If a person does Uber or Instacart as a side business and would like to channel charges associated with their business thru an account like this one, but are not incorporated, they cannot get this account. This has almost the same standards as Chase business CC accounts.

All owner started businesses start small. This is another example of how big business discriminates against small business owners.

  2. Amex Business Checking is also offering a $300 account bonus with a $5K deposit, 10 transactions and keeping a $5K average balance over 60 days. Just like Kabbage it also offers 1.10% APY. This is a separate product offered by American Express but it looks and feels like Kabbage. You can have both a Kabbage and Amex Business Checking account.

  3. How do you use a small business checking account? Can it be used to pay for normal personal bills? Is it FDIC insured?
