What a crazy story.  I am not sure if some of our readers would remember this when it happened or not.  I am sad to hear he wasn’t able to speak with his birth mother since she seems to be the only one who knows what happened.

Chase Sends Out Letter About Misuse Of Rewards Program – Will Close Accounts If It Continues (Referral Related) – Doctor of Credit

I was not aware of any of the work arounds to get more than the 5 limit per card in referrals but it looks like Chase isn’t playing anymore.  I am surprised they didn’t outright shut down the accounts.  This makes me wonder if them sending out the 1099’s for the referral bonuses made this easier to spot or not.
