Hi Mark – Many thanks for the link. I know this has been a hot-button issue for you, and rightfully so. There are far too many restrictions and pitfalls with Airbnb GCs. I recently went through another round of using Airbnb GCs after I wrote the article. Everything eventually turned out ok (and we saved some good money and earned extra points/miles), but not without some glitches and a fair amount of anxiety. I am honestly shocked there hasn’t been a lawsuit of some sort on it yet. I can’t think of any other company that has the kind of unfriendly terms their gift cards have. Their rules just don’t make sense. But if you use them for the full booking like most will they shouldn’t be an issue and they are on sale often which leads to nice savings.
