CFPB Files Lawsuit Against Fifth Third For Allegedly Opening Unauthorized Accounts – Doctor of Credit

I had a situation years ago with Fifth Third where I went in to set up a checking account, for the bonus of course, and the banker auto enrolled me into a savings account that I didn’t want.  He put half of my initial deposit in it and it was some weird account that you had to go to the bank to withdraw the money to protect your savings from bad decisions etc. So needless to say this lawsuit does not surprise me.

149 staff laid off as Cathay Pacific Airlines closes Vancouver base – City News

I was one of the last people to get to fly Cathay from JFK to Vancouver as you heard on our recent podcast episode.  It appears they are not stopping with ending just that route but shutting down their Vancouver base all together which is somewhat surprising.

I would do this in a heartbeat.  It reminds me of my Amsterdam canal tour and I think seeing a city/area from the water gives you another perspective and some ideas of stuff to check out when you are back on land.

Permits approved for high-speed train between Las Vegas, So. California – News 3 Las Vegas

One of the things the US is missing is high speed trains.  I think this would be awesome to add and hopefully it will be successful and they can extend it to other destinations.  I look forward to checking it out if/when it happens.
