These Hotels Have a Cool “Bond” Program – Buy a $100 Card Now, Get $150 in Value Later – Running With Miles

A pretty cool idea and a chance at getting some seriously discounted stays.  The risk is of course that the hotel goes out of business etc. and you are left with nothing.

THE DOWNSIDE OF BUYING DISCOUNTED DISNEY GIFT CARDS FOR TRIPS – Miles For Family

I had never really thought about this but using gift cards to save 5%-10% on your Disney trip could come back to bite some people.  I am sure most of those people would prefer a cash refund right now instead of a massive Disney gift card balance.  At least there is no fear of Disney going under and those becoming completely worthless etc.

Ebay bans me due to ramp in sales – Miles Per Day

Crazy story.  I never understood eBay shutting down seasoned accounts with no negative ratings.  I think someone that sold 2K plus items with no reports is a pretty safe entity.  But they will allow little to no feedback people to scam right and left.

  1. Hi Mark,
Can you confirm the original gift cards were legally obtained and without any illegal activity connected to their original source and payment?
I’m glad eBay is auditing suspicious activity; protects buyers and sellers.

There have been numerous articles on BoardingArea about gift card fraud. Here’s one for reference:

  2. Re: Milesperday eBay post, where is the seller based?
Is he or someone connected to him engaging in fraudulent activity with gift cards that aren’t legitimate? Im glad eBay is auditing!

How exactly did his sales jump so dramatically using gift cards?
Sounds like he got caught and he’s upset.

    • Did you read the post? How did you get the idea that he was doing anything that could be remotely interpreted as fraudulent?

    • Based in Seattle and he used gift cards to purchase some of the Nintendo Switches. He sent them all of the receipts from the purchases and they still were not satisfied. Bad move on eBay’s part. Loses them money and takes products out of the system for their customers.
