Articles

Africa’s most populous city is battling floods and rising seas. It may soon be unlivable, experts warn – CNN

This is sad to see and something needs to be done soon.  They should bring in some Amsterdam engineers to work on it.  Their system is pretty amazing.

Here’s how much Olympic athletes earn for winning medals – CNBC

I found this pretty interesting.  The athletes will usually end up making a ton more from endorsement deals after winning a medal but it is interesting to see what each country pays.  Smaller countries without a ton of medal success will pay some insane amounts.

Double check that you’ve enrolled in the Platinum digital entertainment credit – Frequent Miler

A good tip from Nick.  Be sure to check even if you activated it already since some are saying that it was showing as not activated for them somehow even though they remember signing up for it.

  1. As the article notes, endorsement deals are rare. Even those who win in marketable sports won’t all get deals. Most are going back to regular life, whatever that is for them.

    • I think it depends on the country. In the US that is true but in the smaller countries etc. I think they come back celebrated heroes and get deals. The medal winners from Brazil already have commercials rolling etc.
