A Return to Robo-Signing: JPMorgan Chase Has Unleashed a Lawsuit Blitz on Credit Card Customers – Pro Publica

Regarding hotel loyalty program status matches, does being denied tier benefits in two programs feel any better than being denied tier benefits in only one program?
I agree that Chase shouldn’t be filing these lawsuits simply with an affidavit indicating the account balance.
However, they aren’t alone. Capital One is the worst offender of this practice. They simple file their suits with the same affidavits or the most recent statement (which usually doesn’t show how the balance accumulated – just a summary of a past due amount). Capital One also goes after low income clients and files a torrent of lawsuits, much more than any other issuer.
As someone who has defended low income clients against Chase and Capital One, I can tell you Capital One is much more aggressive and employs the same if not worse tactics. I refuse to ever carry a Capital One card or have an account with them simply because they are a predatory lender and will never change their ways.
Thanks for sharing A. Interesting to hear that on Cap One too.
