PSA: Airbnb Gift Card Caveats – DEM Flyers
I covered issues with Airbnb gift cards in the past but Dem Flyers added in a few items I wasn’t aware of. What a shady practice and I imagine a class action will happen at some point in the future over these “rules”.
Study Shows Taking a Vacation Helps You Live Longer – Travel Pulse
I knew that vacation reduces stress and that people are always encouraged to use all of their vacation time. I didn’t realize the numbers were so high, 37% chance of living longer if you take more vacations. More than half of Americans do not use all of their vacation days. That is scary and sad. I need to book a trip to the Maldives stat! I kid, I kid :).

Lucrative to ludicrous: IHG’s fall to the worst hotel loyalty program – Points with a Crew
You guys know how I feel about IHG these days and especially their PointsBreaks lists. I loved the section where Ian says to stop mocking Hilton and start mocking IHG. The points are not far off in value these days but at least Hilton makes it easier to earn their points. Oh, that’s how Airbnb gift cards work. Well, I guess I’m never going to use them. It reminds me of my experience with Lyft “gift cards” which are really not gift cards but promo codes which cannot be applied with other promo codes losing out on savings, and cannot be used for tips.
I hate those Lyft promos – sign up and get $20 off ($2 per ride for 10 rides etc.)
Very annoying
Mark, how about a vacation like this for you: rent a car(!) to get to a seaport, then take a cruise(!) and get to Maldives(!) Hit your spot right? ^_^
Sounds like my dream trip Alex haha 🙂
