Avianca Ends Partnership with Banco Popular, Credit Cards Will be Closed
If you have an Avianca credit card in your wallet, it will soon be closed. Banco Popular has sent out letters to existing cardholders informing them that the partnership between Banco Popular of Puerto Rico (BPPR) and Avianca has ended.
And with the end of the partnership, comes the end of the credit cards as well. All current accounts will be closed on March 31, 2022.
Banco Popular is crediting annual fees charged since February 2021. You will not be charged if your renewal date was, or is in 2022. And yes, you get to keep all the LifeMiles that you earn through the end of March.
We don’t know if Avianca will pursue another partnership with a different credit card issuer. But regardless of what happens later on, the current credit card account will not transferred. That means that if you an Avianca card becomes available again, you will have to apply.

Too many dispute charges for Avianca Lifemiles tickets booked with miles and that refund was never processed during COVID starting in March 2020. Google issues with Lifemiles . Never ever ever buy miles from Avianca .
I am glad Avianca ended partnership with Banco Popular from Puerto Rico ! I applied several times since day one established partner with my credit score is 850 always declined ! Good bye Banco Popular !
