Hilton Honors Increased Offers Ending – Sort Of
The American Express is pulling the plug on their Hilton Honors credit card’s increased offers today. Should you care? Should you apply? Why will so many articles be written about this? If you are reading this it will probably be the first of many posts about this fact.
Yes the increased offers will end sometime this afternoon. And no I do not have a crystal ball so I don’t know if/when they will be back. But I am a betting man and I would put money on it that similar offers will be back sometime in the near future. I would also say that this is about as high as these offers will go. I can say that with some certainty since the offers either match or come in just shy of their historical highs.
So should you be in a rush to get them? Probably not. But if you have a pressing need for Hilton Honors points then these offers are about as good as it gets so it could make sense to grab one.
Having said that if it doesn’t fit into your current plans then I think it is safe for you to wait till they come around next time. Hopefully the timing will be better for you then.
Details on the Offers
I do truly believe these are very solid offers and I will give you a quick overview of each one in order of best to worst, in my opinion at least.
Business Hilton Honors Card – (Review)
This is the best offer, in my opinion, for a few reasons and it is a card I have been strongly considering. I just canceled an American Express card to make room for this actually.
- Earn 125,00 Hilton Honors points after spending $5,000 within the first 3 months of card membership.
I think this card offers the best option of the three even though it doesn’t have the most valuable offer, that goes to the Ascend, because it is a business card. Everyone who is able to sign up for a business card can get it. It is a new(er) card which means that if you don’t currently have one you have never had one. Since it is a business card it shouldn’t count against your Chase 5/24 status either. So even if you are playing it safe or trying to get under 5/24 for a Chase application this card still makes sense.

American Express Ascend – (Review)
This is the most valuable bonus of the 3 cards but most will not be able to get it since American Express considers it the same product as the old Surpass. This is a personal card so it will count against your Chase 5/24 status. Because of those two things I put it in the 2 spot on the list. The bonus details are as follows:
- Earn 100,000 Hilton Honors points after completing $3,000 in spend within the first 3 months.
- Earn a free weekend night award after the 1st year anniversary (2nd annual fee paid)
This is a very good offer that matches the highest offer in the history of the card. That includes when the card was the Surpass card.

American Express Hilton Card
This is actually my oldest American Express card. I love it because of the upgrade offers that come around for it. It also has a pretty good earning structure for a no fee card. Here are the increased bonus terms:
- 75,000 Hilton Honors points when you spend $1,000 within the first 3 months
If you are annual fee adverse then this is a solid option for you. This card has had an 80,000 point offer in the past. Remember you are only eligible for a welcome offer if you have not had the card in the past when dealing with American Express. This card has been around for a long time so be sure before applying.

Conclusion
These are all pretty good offers but they will most likely be back at some point in the future. Be sure you have a use for the points before applying. If you don’t have an immediate need then wait till the next go around.
But, if you have been eyeing one of these offers then you can’t really go wrong with any of them. They are all at or very close to their all time highest offers.
