Bed Bath & Beyond Visa Gift Card Rebate
We have a new player getting into the Visa gift card rebate game. While it seems the community was a little late to catch this one, Bed Bath & Beyond is running a deal on Visa gift cards through Saturday. Let’s take a look.
The Deal
Get a $15 Bed Bath & Beyond Visa Prepaid Card with the Purchase of a $200 Visa Prepaid Card at Bed Bath & Beyond.
Key Terms
- Purchase dates: 9/4/2016 through 9/17/2016.
- Offer good on purchase of items listed below at participating Bed Bath & Beyond stores between the start date and end date applicable to those items.
- No certificates from groups, clubs or organizations will be honored.
- Offer void if correct proof(s) of purchase and this original form along with a copy of your dated sales receipt or packing slip and complete name, address and zip code are not included.
- Offer good for U.S. & Puerto Rico residents only.
- Cards can be used at any merchants that accept Visa debit cards.
- Bed Bath & Beyond reserves the right to substitute a check of equal value in lieu of a Visa prepaid card at its discretion. Please allow 8-10 weeks for delivery.
Note: The terms don’t mention a limit as far as I can tell, so I have no idea if you can only do this once or as many times as you want.
Submitting Your Rebate Online
Thankfully, Bed Bath & Beyond makes the rebate process somewhat easy. Instead of having to mail in receipts, you can submit all of the documentation online.
To submit your rebate online:
- Click this link
- Choose United States
- Select “Blackhawk” as the brand and your purchase date.
- Choose to submit your rebate online.
- Choose whether you want a Visa prepaid card or a Bed Bath & Beyond gift card.
- Enter in your information including name and address.
- Upload the required documentation.
- Submit the rebate.
The Math
$200 Visa gift cards sold by Bed Bath & Beyond come with a $6.95 fee. Here is how the math works out:
- Cost: $206.95
- Rebate: $-15
- Final Cost: $191.95
- Profit: $8.05
Liquidating
Visa gift cards sold by Bed Bath & Beyond are issued by Metabank. The PIN number for these cards is the last four digits of the card number. They work the same as Visa gift cards sold by Staples, Office Depot and various other stores and should work to load Bluebird/Serve (if you still have one) and to purchase money orders, etc at most places where debit cards are accepted.
Conclusion
While Bed Bath & Beyond doesn’t earn a 5X category bonus like the office supply stores, you only need to purchase one card to get the rebate and unlike the upcoming Staples Mastercard deal, these cards are easier to liquidate. This is a good deal to earn points/cashback on a good everyday card or to simply meet minimum spend at a negative cost.

I saw no indication anywhere on the limit on the online form. However, just to be safe I did submit one under my mom’s name and address and one under my own.
My BBB doesn’t have third party gift cards. Bummer
Limit two Visa Gift Cards per hardcopy rebate form.
How about online rebate? Any similar limitation?
I assume the rules are the same.
WhT is considered a UPC when it comes to VGCs? The number used to activate VGC?
I scanned the back of the card: it has a barcode that’s right on the card.
Thanks!
Can you submit more than 1 rebate? I don’t see anything about it being limited to 1 per address.
Limit 1?
Limit 2
There is a Ebates shop in-store deal at Bed Bath and Beyond where you can earn 2.0% Cash Back. The terms and conditions of the offer say nothing about purchasing gift cards as being an exclusion. This deal should net you an additional $4.14 after the gift card fee is included.
Thanks Donald!
Do you know if you can use a BB&B gift card to purchase the VGC? I suspect not, but thought I’d ask
I haven’t tried in a couple of years, but was denied back then.
