Have You Purchased belVita Breakfast Products? File Rebate Claim Now

If you have purchased belVita breakfast products during the last eight years, you could be eligible for a settlement rebate up to $34.

The settlement comes after a lawsuit that alleges Mondelēz International Inc (MDLZ) violated certain laws in labeling for some of its belVita products. The labels made these products seem healthy, when they were in fact unhealthy due to their high added sugar content. MDLZ denies any and all wrongdoing and both sides have agreed to a settlement, to avoid the risk and cost of further litigation.

Eligibility

The Settlement Class includes all persons in the United States who, between November 16, 2013 and November 17, 2021 (the “Class Period”), purchased in the United States, for household use and not for resale or distribution, one of the Class Products. Those products include:

  • belVita Crunchy Biscuits
    • Varieties: Toasted Coconut, Cranberry Orange, Golden Oat, Blueberry, Cinnamon Brown Sugar, Chocolate, Apple Cinnamon, Pumpkin Spice
  • belVita Soft Baked Biscuits
    • Varieties: Banana Bread, Cinnamon, Mixed Berry, Oats & Chocolate, Oats & Peanut Butter
  • belVita Bites
    • Varieties: Chocolate, Mixed Berry, Cinnamon Brown Sugar
  • belVita Sandwiches
    • Varieties: Peanut Butter, Vanilla Yogurt Crème, Strawberry Yogurt Crème, Dark Chocolate Crème

How Much You Get

MDLZ has agreed to establish an $8,000,000 fund to pay all Settlement Expenses, including the costs of Class Notice and Administration, attorneys’ fees and costs, service awards for the Class Representatives, and Cash Awards for Class Members who make claims.

Class Members who make claims will be entitled to monetary compensation, on a pro rata basis, depending on which and how many boxes of breakfast products they purchased during the Class Period.

Based on the estimated number of claims that will be made, the estimated average Cash Award is approximately $34.10. However, the actual amount of the Cash Award any individual receives will depend on both the number of claims made and each claimant’s purchase history, and may be significantly more or less than $34.10.

Submitting a claim is the only way to get a monetary payment. Claim Forms must be submitted online or mailed to the Class Administrator by February 9, 2022.

  1. Thanks Danny! Not the typical article for a points & miles blog – but one MUCH appreciated! My kids all swam competitively year round so I was always buying tons of snack that could survive the school day. I am a Kroger shopper and was actually able to pull up purchases back to 2018 online through my account. This will be a nice little bonus – although, I feel a little guilty. It wasn’t like my kids got “fat” from eating BelVita bars!

  2. Thanks for this. We took our first cruise with our kids in October 2014 and Southwest handed these out as snacks. The whole family liked them and we started buying them at that time. That’s how I know when we were first introduced.
