On our recent trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando I surprised my daughter with an appointment at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  This is a unique experience for girls aged 3 through 12.  It was such a cool experience that I wanted to write a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique review.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Review – Locations

There are two Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations in Walt Disney World.  One is located inside Cinderella’s Castle at the Magic Kingdom park and it is very hard to get an appointment.  The other is located in Disney Springs and is a much easier appointment to snag.  I will be reviewing the Disney Springs location.

The Cinderella’s Castle location is more popular since it is inside the park but it is often necessary to call 180 days in advance to get a good appointment time.  If you are staying at a Disney resort you can call 10 days earlier.  If you are staying at a non-Disney hotel and you can not secure a desirable time, then the Disney Springs location is a great option.  It is also perfect for days you are not going into the park because you don’t need a ticket to get into the Disney Springs location.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Review – Pricing

There are different packages available for various prices.  Remember that your little princess can bring a dress with her.  She can either wear it into the boutique or change in her room when she gets there.  The Walt Disney World Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique packages and pricing are as follows:

  • The Crown package ($64.95 + tax)
    • Includes hairstyling, makeup, a face gem, nail polish, Mickey Mouse hair pin, princess sash and cinch bag. You get to keep the leftover face gems, makeup, and nail polish.
  • The Courtyard package ($109.95 + tax)
    • Everything included in the Crown Package plus a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique T-shirt and tutu.
  • The Castle package (starting at $199.95 + tax)
    • Everything included in the Crown Package plus a princess costume of your girl’s choice and accessories (excluding shoes).
  • The Deluxe Castle Package (starting at $229.95 plus tax)
    • Everything included in the Crown Package plus a princess necklace, Deluxe Disney Princess gown of your choice (excluding shoes) and an accessory set.

We decided to go with the Courtyard Package so she would have a keepsake from the experience.  She brought her own dress which my wife purchased on Wish for around $20.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Review – Experience

We had a 6PM appointment and ended up showing up around 30 minutes early wondering if they could squeeze us in earlier. They surprisingly were able to get us in a little early.

Hairstyle

Once you check in they have you choose from 3 hairstyle choices:

  • The Disney Diva – A color coordinated ponytail is added to your princess’ hair.
  • Pop Princess – Color braids are added into your princess’ hair.
  • Fairytale Princess – The Cinderella bun look with a Tiara.

We decided to go with the Fairytale Princess even though her hair was probably a little too short for it.

Dressing Room

Once your hairstyle is selected you wait in the lobby for a little bit until your fairy godmother in training comes to get you.  She will then take you back to your dressing room. That is also where the t-shirt and tutu were waiting for my daughter.

After you get dressed, if needed, they have you take a look in the mirror and say the magic words – Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo.  This is when the real Fairy Godmother appears in the mirror to talk to your little girl before she is turned into a princess.

Once that is completed they take you into another waiting room until your stylist is ready.  Once they are ready they will call for “Princess Charlotte of the Royal House of Ostermann.”

Stylist

The fairy godmother in training hands her off to the stylist and then they go to work.  They first work on your hair style of choice.

Once that is completed they have you pick out a nail polish color and paint your fingernails.

Finally they have your daughter select her face gem, her lip gloss color, and eye shadow color.  Whatever is left over is placed into her cinch bag to take home.

During this whole process there are photographers snapping pictures of your little princess.  You are also allowed to take your own pictures.

The finishing touch is spraying your little princess’ hair with sparkles.  They then add your sash and turn your daughter around so she is able to finally see her princess makeover.

Once the makeover is complete your princess gets to do a mini photo shoot.  They place her in front of a miniature Cinderella carriage replica.  The photographer will hand you a card with your order information in case you decide to purchase any of the photos.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Review – Conclusion

The Disney experience was in full effect from start to finish.  My daughter was a little exhausted when it was all said and done after spending the day at the park.  A morning appointment would have been better. I called two weeks before our trip so I was happy to get anything. The whole process took around an hour from start to finish.

Our view from dinner in Disney Springs

I enjoyed the Disney Springs location since it is larger than the Cinderella’s Castle location, it is easier to get an appointment and it is less chaotic.  We were also able to take her around to the shops and dinner at one of the many choices in her outfit.

Tip to save a little bit of money: Disney gift cards work for payment so stock up on discounted cards when you can.

Would we do it again? You bet we would.  I am hoping to get my daughter and my niece to do it together.

My favorite part? Probably the t-shirt and tutu.  It is so cute and I prefer it over the dresses since she can wear it anywhere.

Another Option: If you can’t get an appointment or want to do something a little more cost effective check out The Pirates League which offers a similar experience.

  1. This was a terrible disappointment for my daughter and myself. You pay for the experience of being treated special, but a hair dresser at Great clips talks to an adult better than the fairy godmother did to my daughter. She pulled my girl’s hair while while styling, and there was no smile, maybe she was having a bad day. While waiting inside the boutique, as I was taking pics of my daughter in her outfit, several godmothers just strolled by and photo bombed, with no excuse me’s, which I thought was rude in a normal place, and especially in a place like this. I must say some of the other fairy godmothers were treating the kids special, my daughter wasn’t lucky!! Would never recommend this, take your child to a salon instead.

    • Sorry to hear that Nim. I think a lot does depend on the fairy godmother you get. They all seemed to be enjoying themselves and doing a good job when we were there.

  2. I loved this post so much even though I don’t have children, don’t have grandchildren and don’t have any other small children in my life who I would/could ever take to Disney World. I didn’t even know a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique existed (let alone how to spell it.) On the other hand, I do remember being a little girl (however many decades ago that may have been), and I know that this would have been a highlight of my life experience. I’m sure your little princess will remember this for the rest of her life (and it appears you may too!), so it was clearly money well invested even if you didn’t redeem any points to pay for the experience. Maybe you did… but I’m glad that this post just focused on the experience, itself, and not on whatever terrific redemption you received from whatever credit card points you may have had.

    • Thanks Pauline. It was a unique experience and I had not heard of it until a few weeks before we went. It was my favorite thing from our trip too and hopefully we can do it again.
