Bloomingdale’s Amex Offer

American Express is targeting some cardholders with a new very generous offer for shopping at Bloomingdale’s. Let’s take a look at the deal and how you can possibly profit from it.

The Offer

Get a one-time $75 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $200+ in one or more transactions online at bloomingdales.com by 6/30/2017.

Key Terms

  • Enrollment limited.
  • Valid online at bloomingdales.com.
  • Not valid on purchases shipped outside of the US.
  • Excludes Blue Mercury, Bloomingdale’s outlet, Macy’s and Macy’s  Backstage.
  • Excludes business gifts, charitable donations, same day deliveries, return pickup service from Delivery, WorryNoMore Warranties and travel services.

How to Load

This offer is targeted and can only be loaded to cards via the American Express website. I found the offer only on business cards in my name. My personal cards weren’t targeted and my wife wasn’t targeted on her personal or business cards.

Save 52.5% on Merchandise

Right now Ebates is paying 15% back at Bloomingdale’s. If you purchase $200 worth of merchandise, your final cost will be $200 – $30 (cashback) – $75 (Amex Offer) = $95. That is a savings of 52.5%!

Buy Gift Cards

Purchasing Bloomingdale’s physical or e-gift cards should trigger the offer. If you purchase a $200 gift card you could possibly sell it for up to 86%. Even at a modest price of selling at 80%, you would make a profit of $35! It doesn’t look like portals payout on gift card purchases.

Conclusion

This is a pretty amazing deal whether you want to buy/sell gift cards or simply want to get a great deal on merchandise from Bloomingdale’s. Even though this offer is targeted, you may want to load it now before it disappears. Happy Amexing!

  1. …a follow up question:

Will the value of gift card selling be reduced in the next few days as $200 Bloomingdale gift cards “flood” the giftcard market??

  2. Do you know if Bloomingdales giftcards be used at Macy’s?

Sorry…on mobile and figured others may wonder as well

    • I had the offer on three cards.

We don’t shop at Bloomingdales but do shop at Macy’s. It’s too bad that gift cards don’t cross-over btwn these two related stores, which are owned by the same company.

….just debating now on if I want “learn” how to sell gift cards for some “free cash”!!
