Book Circa Las Vegas Rooms Now For December Grand Opening

Shawn covered the news of the new Circa hotel and casino opening downtown Vegas a few months ago.  I have to admit, the renderings look amazing! The work has been plugging along during the pandemic and the casino and amazing pool area is set to open October 28th.  The hotel will not be opening until December 28th but you can book Circa Las Vegas rooms now.  I will warn you the prices are not cheap though, especially for a Fremont street property.

What Is Opening At Circa Las Vegas In October?

Most of the property should be open on October 28th.  Of course it is a few weeks after my scheduled trip 😥, but I am sure Shawn will check it out and write something up when it opens.

The following areas will be open:

  • Casino
    • Two story casino with 1,350 slot machines and 49 table games.
    • The world’s largest sports book should be opening as well.
  • Pool
    • 30 cabanas
    • 38 day beds
    • 337 chaise lounges
    • 4,000 people expected to visit the pool every day too (I am assuming that is post pandemic numbers).
  • Restaurants
    • Saginaw’s Delicatessen – a restaurant from famed Zingerman’s Deli’s owner.
    • Victory Burger and Wings
    • Project BBQ
    • Barry’s Downtown Prime

When Does The Circa Las Vegas Hotel Open?

The ability to book Circa Las Vegas rooms opened up to the public yesterday morning.  The hotel will start taking guests on December 28, 2020.  Circa also announced that this will be an adult only property.  That was a somewhat surprising announcement since Vegas has tried to be thought of more as a family friendly destination in recent years.  But I think Circa is looking to cater to the party crowd so this fits in with that motif.

Beware though, the Circa Las Vegas are not cheap in the first month of availability.  When most rooms on Fremont Street are well below $100 a night Circa Las Vegas is showing most days at around $200 a night or above.  If you are trying to book for the opening night festivities be aware that a two night minimum is being enforced during the opening week.

Here are what the prices look like right now:

Final Thoughts

I am glad we are finally able to book Circa Las Vegas rooms but I think the pricing is a bit high for Fremont street.  I also think that it will be a tough sell with the pandemic going on right now and Nevada just putting a mask requirement in place.  There will be people that want to be at the opening and will pay whatever they ask for sure but later in the month I think they will struggle to fill the rooms.

The pool area and sports book do look amazing though.  I am very excited to check those both out whenever I make it back to Sin City!

What do you think about Las Vegas’ newest casino and hotel opening?  Will you be booking a room, even at these higher prices?

    • No it is owned by Derek Stevens who owns Golden Gate and The D. I imagine it will be linked with those properties gaming programs.

  1. I’ll throw my two cents in…one of the posters makes an interesting point that I’d not considered: Frat parties. I’m booked at Circa for Dec 28th & 29th because I wanted to say I were there their first two nights of being open. As such, I’m paying for that “privilege”. I struggle to justify paying for hotel rooms in Vegas. So paying $375 per night (after taxes & resort fees) for two nights is NOT my “norm”. But again, brand new hotel(/casino) to open in downtown in decades? Sure, this one time I’ll do it. And, truth be told, part of the reason I could sell the idea to my wife was because it was a 21+ property. But does that mean the the 22-25 year old d-bags are going to flock to Circa because it’s a 21+ property? I think time will tell. While I think the pool and 3-story TV screen(s?) will be a draw, I don’t know if that’s a big enough reason for 22-25 years to stay in Downtown, when I’d think they’d rather hit up day & night clubs, pool parties, etc etc. I’m not going to lie, I’m hoping Circa is targeting folks like my wife & me. Late-30s, Early 40s folks too old for day clubs, too young for 4 pm dinner and bingo.

That said, I’m not so bearish on their hotel room prices AFTER the opening 90-days. I think, for a brand new property, their rooms are going to be competitive with Golden Nugget. Frankly, I (very occassionally) look at DTG’s hotel room rates and am floored they can get away with charging those prices. So you get a new casino at a prime location on Fremont St., with a brand new hotel and amenities that meet/exceed what GN offers? I think they’re going to do just fine. I 100% respect people who want to stay at Boyd’s Fremont or at the Four Queens or Plaza, because of price. (Hell I’d even argue Plaza’s prices are pretty steep for what you get at the hotel/casino.) I think there’s a place for GN & Circa on the FSE, and there is a place for 4Q, Fremont, Plaza, GG. Honestly, I love the Cal’s hotel rooms. If MSS would upgrade their rooms to the clean, fresh, quality level of their sister property, I’d stay at MSS exclusively. I digress. I’m looking forward to seeing what sort of clientele Circa pulls in, particularly one year from now. I don’t think the 21+ policy is going to be jettisoned, I think Circa knows who their target market is, and those are gamblers. But, time will tell!

    • Great comment and I agree that it will be interesting to see what type of people show up. I love the Golden Nugget and their newer tower is nice but there are still budget friendly rooms in the old tower. I just wonder if there will be enough demand to fill it consistently. Although Fremont is probably as popular as it has ever been although I find it less attractive than I did 5-10 years ago when it was still kind of a hidden gem.

    • I think the 20-something d-bags will gravitate towards cheap or free rooms. I’m bored out of my mind with Vegas with no plans to go back, even though I could probably stay free for 2-3 weeks. Personally, I would stick to using up my free rooms at upscale properties like Aria and Bellagio if I went. But after the last two dozen or so trips to Vegas, I have more interesting places to see.

  2. As someone who doesn’t think he has kids I like the adults only concept. The price does seem a little steep though and one thing I’ve always liked about Fremont Street is the absence of mega resorts. I’m interested in seeing the reviews when it opens but I find the price and the scale a little much. If it becomes a giant frat party, I’ll definitely avoid it.

    • It will be interesting to see how it fits in when it is all said and done. Will be a different vibe than the rest of Fremont I think.

  3. Wonder how well the no minors rule is going to last. I like the idea (Vegas was never a family destination IMO), but people like to grouch about things. I bet Circa drops the policy 3 months in.

  4. Looks nice. I heard no one under 21 will be allowed (no kids) – saw that on another blog. So that’s great! Vegas is for adults….

  5. Yeah, no thanks. The rooms look quite nice and I like how they offer Double King beds which is quite rare. However, I’m not going to pay $200/night for a property in Downtown Vegas. I would rather stay at Cosmo, Aria, or Bellagio instead at those prices.
