The announcement of the Philippine Airlines and Alaska Atmos partnership was announced a little while back, but the award bookings are now live. Not only are they live, but the award calendar is pretty much wide open. You can book Philippine Airlines business class space with Alaska Atmos starting from 75,000 miles one way. If you hate struggling to find award space, then maybe this is the partnership for you. At least if you are planning to go to Asia. But, should you? I decided to pass on this one myself…

Where Does Philippine Airlines Fly

You may not have noticed, but Philippine Airlines has a decent little route map in the US. Here are the destinations where you can hop on one of their planes:

  • New York (JFK)
  • Los Angeles (LAX)
  • San Francisco (SFO)
  • Seattle (SEA)
  • Honolulu (HNL)
  • Chicago (ORD) – coming November 2026

While not surprising, the options are west coast heavy. It is nice to see the East Coast and Midwest get a little love too though. If you are searching for some good business class award space with your Alaska Atmos miles, then these are the best places to start.

The Entire Calendar Is Bookable

When I say this award calendar is pretty wide open, I mean wide open. I checked many of these routes and saw a lot of space from 75K, 85K and 110K (with connection) one way. Here are some examples from the main routes:

Book Philippine Airlines Business With Atmos: San Francisco

Here is some award space for two people in February on the SFO route. Most of the dates in the month are bookable (likely for several more than 2 people). This is one of two cheapest routes, at only 75K Atmos miles per person one way.

San Fran’s southern neighbor is showing a ton of space even in November of this year. It is 10K more per person, but if you needed a last minute Thanksgiving trip booking – this could be it.

SEA Flights

Seattle

The other 75K route is out of SEA. Were you looking for a Spring Break option? Then maybe this pretty cheap route could be just what the doctor ordered.

Book Philippine Airlines Business With Atmos: Chicago

What is old is new again. The route will be back open in Chicago this fall, and I am already seeing decent space on the non-stop option. For only 85K per person, this is a solid option for the Midwest and East Coast folks.

New York

JFK was the one spot that was a bit stingy with award space. I only noticed a few days here and there for the non-stop flight. Maybe you would have better luck if booking for only one person. There was a lot of space around 110K per person with a West Coast connection though.

Why This May Be A Pass (And Is For Me)

There is no doubt that these are pretty decent prices. The bigger thing is the wide open bookable space though. Nothing is sweeter than an easy award search after all (at least for me). The problem is that Manilla is known as a pretty terrible airport for connections. So, if you are planning on using these flights as a jumping off point in Asia, you may want to look elsewhere. It sounds like the airport is a bit of a mess, and people even suggest booking a walkable hotel even if you are just overnighting there to make it easier. These award prices are just not good enough to add that extra pain in my opinion.

If you had planned on visiting the Philippines, or don’t mind spending a few days chilling there, then that doesn’t really matter. This could be a really easy option to get your vacation rolling. You could then jump to some other countries after spending a few nights at the beach.

Potential Silver Lining

The one potential gold star option would be a skip-lag booking. If you can find a route that fills Japan Airlines on the long flight (for example) then you could book it and hop off in Tokyo. There are potential risks here, since airlines don’t love this, but this may be a smaller risk on an airline you won’t fly much. You have to decide your own risk level there. I would book the award as a “guest” and make sure to carry-on if you do it.

Book Philippine Airlines Business With Atmos: Final Thoughts

It is always nice to have another viable option over to Asia. However, Manilla airport may not make this a good just “get over” there option. Who knows if the space will always be wide open like this either. When new partnerships roll out sometimes they flood the award chart for a short period. Then they lock down award space and curtail the free flowing flights.
