British Airways has a limited-time status match offer for passengers based in the United States and Canada. This is a generous offer that makes it easy to earn oneworld Sapphire or oneworld Emerald status. Let’s see the details.
The Offer
Eligible customers who apply by May 7, 2024 will receive either British Airways’ Silver or Gold status for six months. they also have the opportunity to extend that to a full year with the purchase of two qualifying flights.

How it Works
- Join the Executive Club for free, if you’re not already a Member
- Apply online by 7 May 2024 using this link
- Upload proof of your status in a Frequent Flyer program with one of the eligible airlines
- Your application will be reviewed to check you’re eligible for tier match – this usually takes five business days
- Once approved, you’ll receive an acceptance email and an upgraded digital Membership card
Want to extend your extend your status through the end of the membership year? All you have to do is book and travel on two qualifying transatlantic flights (one round trip) within six months. To qualify, these flights must:
- Be a British Airways-marketed flight in business (Club World) or First
- Be operated by British Airways, American Airlines, Iberia or Finnair
- Originate from the US, Canada or Mexico
- Fly to the UK and onwards to Europe
- Be eligible for earning Tier Points and collecting Avios
