MtM Vegas – Caesars Status Match Backtrack

On this week’s MtM Vegas we have so much to talk about including Caesars making a huge backtrack and what it was like on BTS weekend. Before we dive in don’t forget to subscribe to the Miles to Memories YouTube channel to see every episode plus our Vegas reviews, guides and tours!

This Week’s MtM Vegas Video

A few weeks ago Caesars upset a lot of people by not only changing their status match rules, but also retroactively removing status for people who didn’t qualify under the new rules. Thankfully they have now backtracked, making us wonder if they did it out of the kindness in their hearts or because they legally needed to.

In other news we update you on what it was like on the Strip this last weekend including: numbing drinks at Cosmo, Paris Las Vegas construction and the Cosmo’s awesomeness. We also discuss waived MGM resort fees with Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts, Peppermill’s announcement and the ways Resorts World continues to fall short nearly a year after opening.

  1. I went to Rio since it was the only property with free parking. I stated I never had a rewards card and she asked for my license. Then she stated she ran my license and found my Caesars account which I said I did not remember but she would not match me. I then asked for the manager who refused to status match me or make a new Caesars account.

  2. I just went to Caesar’s on Wednesday, 04/13. I have Epic status with True Rewards (STRAT, Aquarius, etc). When I asked for the status match, the club employee did indeed say that it was for new members only, but when he looked me up in their system, he came up with a really old address, in a different state from my current driver’s license. I played dumb and said I’d never lived at that address, so he set me up with a “new” account and gave me Diamond. On the website it says that if I earn ~11k tier credits between now and 12/31/2022, they will extend Diamond through the end of 2023. Thanks for the tip about Mlife, since my status has dropped there. I will see if I can get Gold by showing the Caesar’s Diamond card.
