The Chase Freedom Flex card has a new welcome bonus that can earn you up to $1,200 in cash back over the first year of card membership. New applicants can earn a total of 10% back on grocery purchases, and also receive a 0% intro APR. Let’s see how this offer works.

The Offer

  • Earn a total of 10% Back on Groceries (excluding Walmart and Target) during your first 12 months, or until you reach $12,000 in grocery store purchases. That’s 9% additional Cash Back rewards on top of the 1% Cash Back rewards earned on each purchase.
  • 0% intro APR for 15 months from account opening on purchases and balance transfers.

Card Highlights

  • 5% on Bonus Quarterly Categories (if groceries are one of the categories, then you would earn 14% back when stacking with signup offer)

Conclusion

This is one of the best no-fee cards out there. Chase Freedom Flex earns cash back by default. However, the real strength of the  Chase Freedom Flex is when you also hold a premium card with Chase. This includes the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred, or even the Ink Business Preferred Card. Having one of these premium cards enables converting your cash back into Ultimate Rewards points.

That would mean that you can earn up to 120,000 Ultimate Rewards points on groceries during the first year, through this welcome bonus.
