Check for Bank of America Retention Offers
Bank of America is offering retention bonuses for many cardholders, even those who have no annual fee credit cards. Instead of calling customer service, you can now check with Erica, Bank of America’s virtual financial assistant, whether there are any offers available for your credit card.
To check, simply log in to the Bank of America mobile app or online banking, open Erica, and select “Close credit account”. If your account is targeted, Erica will display any available promotions. Reports so far show that the retention offer is for a $175 statement credit after spending $1,500.
This provides a much easier way to see if you’re eligible for a retention offer without having to speak with an agent. While not everyone will receive an offer, it’s a quick check that’s worth doing if you have a Bank of America credit card, especially if you’re considering canceling a card or have an annual fee coming up. It’s also easy money for those with a no-fee card.
Just keep in mind that if you accept one retention offer, you will no longer receive an offer on your other Bank of America credit cards.
Conclusion
It’s always nice to see banks make retention offers easier to access. Since checking through Erica only takes a few seconds, there’s little downside to seeing if your account has been targeted. If you have a Bank of America credit card, it’s worth a quick look.
