Rakuten Bonus for Bank of America Cards

Rakuten Bonus for Bank of America Cards

Rakuten is the first shopping portal that started offering a bonus for some popular Chase credit cards. At one time they were offering 30,000 points for Chase Sapphire Preferred applications, which was a best ever deal when combined with the 100K bonus from Chase. Now there is a Rakuten bonus for Bank of America cards too! Update 5/18/26: The payout has been increased again, and is just below the best ever offer.

***Reminder that Bilt status is required to earn 1 to 1 on Rakuten past 5/15/26.

Details

Rakuten added two no-fee Bank of America credit cards, with bonuses up to $275 or 27,500 points. That includes:

  • Bank of America Travel Rewards Card: $275 Cash Back
    • $300 is the best the offer has ever been
  • Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards Card: $75 Cash Back
    • $175 is the best the offer has ever been for this card

These bonuses are in addition to what you get from Bank of America for these cards. That would be $250 in travel for the Travel Rewards card. The Customized Cash offers $200 plus 6% in one category for one year as well.

Notable Terms

You can see both offers here. But only if your Rakuten account is set to earn cash back or Bilt Points. Those who have selected Amex Membership Rewards points usually will not see these offers (YMMV there). We are not sure why that is, but it should be possible to change your payout method if you would like to pursue this offer.

Rakuten Paying For Bank Of America Sign Ups

The Customized Cash and Travel Rewards cards from Bank of America are nothing special normally. When you throw in the fact that there is a Rakuten bonus for signing up for these Bank of America cards, things get a little more interesting though. When combined, this would increase the offers to $525 for the Travel Rewards (or 27,500 Bilt points and $250) and $275 plus 6% back in one category for the Customized Cash during the first year. That is a lot more enticing than the normal offer. Especially for two no annual fee cards.

Reminder that if you’re a new Rakuten customer you can also add a $50 signup bonus.
