8 INCREDIBLE AND WORTHWHILE DAY TOURS FROM MILAN, ITALY – Megan Starr

An awesome write up with so many great choices.  I would put Cinque Terre Region at the top of my list.  I love the picturesque colorful coastal towns.

Citi, Chase and US Bank Will Not Make Changes to Priority Pass Benefit – Danny the Deal Guru

This is nothing more than corporate speak so I wouldn’t take it as more than that.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see one or more of them to follow Amex’s suit though.  I discussed why that isn’t a huge deal to me earlier this week.

  1. Re: the 8 tours from Milan. Get Your Guide is a tour consolidator – scroll to the bottom of any listing and you will see the actual tour operator. Sometimes Viator offers the same tour. Payment is upfront, but usually Get Your Guide and Viator have 24 hour cancellation policies, which is sometimes better than the local operator offers. I believe Viator is available through some shopping portals, too. Be aware these are usually big bus tours – not necessarily a bad thing, just depends on how good the group is and how much time you are out and about.

As for Cinque Terra, it has become exceedingly over-crowded (no thanks to travel maven Rick Steves, of PBS shows and guidebook fame). So plan carefully if you plan to go there. Wanted to go when I first heard about it in the’90s, but didn’t get there. Now I’ll give it a pass unless I go out of season and stay in the area overnight. Although Italy is getting crowded even in March and November now. So many places to see in Italy that would be easy independent day trips from Milan. As for wonderful places in Italy, one of my favorites was Sicily. Went in April 2 years ago. Driving wasn’t bad (and no toll roads). Fabulous places to see, amazing food, not expensive, no hordes of tourists, loved every minute.
