Citi Sears Mastercard, Earn Up to 60,000 Bonus Points

Shawn always like to brag about his Citi Sears Mastercard, and for good reason. This card keeps coming out with crazy offers all the time, and it’s undoubtedly one of the best store cards out there.

For the first quarter of 2023, some cardholders are seeing a new spending offer for up to 60,000 bonus points. Let’s see the details.

The Offer

Earn 15X Bonus ThankYou Points on total eligible gas station, grocery store and restaurant purchases of $1,200 or more made each month (up to a maximum total of 20,000 Bonus ThankYou Points each month) using your Sears Mastercard from 1/1/2023 (or the date you activate this offer, whichever is later) through 3/31/2023.

Key Terms

  • Maximum bonus of 20,000 points for each offer period.
  • This promotion is not transferable.
  • To qualify for this promotion, you must activate this promotion before the end of the promotional period.

Conclusion

This is one of the best Citi Sears spending offers I have seen. You get 15X Bonus ThankYou Points on popular categories such as gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants. You can earn up to 20,000 Bonus ThankYou Points each month, as long as you spend a total of $1,200 on those three categories.

  1. Maybe a stupid question but do you have to carry a balance or can it be paid off monthly? I’ve never tried any of these deals for that reason. The one’s I’ve seen are like must purchase 5k a quarter. That’s a lot to have to pay back!

    • You can pay it off monthly and never pay interest! With all credit cards as long as the balance is paid in full by the statement due date you don’t pay interest.

  2. OUCH!!!

“Shop Your Way Mastercard® and Sears Card®:
++As of 12/20/22, the APR for purchases (and for the Shop Your Way Mastercard®, the APR for balance transfers) is 29.49% and the APR for cash advances is 29.99%. These APRs will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate. The Minimum Interest Charge is $2. The cash advance fee is 5% of each transaction; minimum $5. For the Shop Your Way Mastercard, the balance transfer fee is 5% of each transaction, minimum $10, and the transaction fee for foreign purchases is 3% of each purchase transaction in U.S. dollars. See card agreement for details.”

God, I hope that no ONE in their right (or wrong) mind, who has this card, is forced to do a Cash Advance or Balance transfer with those cards.

Those 29% interest rates are approaching Pawn Shop rates (not that I have any clue what pawn shops charge).

    • Not a great set of rates, but no one should be paying interest on credit cards (unless it’s one of those sweet 2-3% deals). Credit card finance charges haven’t been reasonable in twenty years despite near zero% borrowing rates for the banks. Anyone in this game should realize that the infrequent customers who pay those exorbitant rates are the ones that fund our hobby.

  3. Have this one again this quarter. I have gotten this a few times before. This card is such a sleeper. I have earned more easy points on this card than any other card in my portfolio, past or present. No annual fee, easy categories and a zero % 18 month standing offer for purchases over $549 so I can float a ton. Every time I ask for a CL increase it has been granted. How Citi can make this so great I don’t know.

  4. How easy/hard to link these TY Points to ones on a Citi Premier or Citi Rewards? Haven’t really looked into this card before but 15X sounds pretty nice to me.
