CLEAR Turn Off Auto-Renewal

CLEAR Turn Off Auto-Renewal

Last night CLEAR briefly made available an amazing deal giving those who signed up one year of free membership. ($179+ value). It isn’t working any longer, but I hope many of you were able to sign-up before it died.

One of the downsides of the deal was you having to input your credit card information and sign-up for automatic billing. While setting a calendar alert isn’t too hard having renewal turned off is even better. Here is how you can turn off CLEAR auto-renewal.

About CLEAR

CLEAR is a pay to play front of the line service that helps customers skip lines at select airports around the country. After signing up you have to process your membership in a CLEAR location which only takes a few minutes. After the initial processing you just go to a CLEAR kiosk in a participating airport and a CLEAR employee helps you move right to the front. More on how it works.

Login to your CLEAR account. If you got this deal it should show you have a one year full membership and should look something like this. Note your amount due may be more or less depending on how many people you signed up. I signed up myself ($179) and my wife ($50) which is why the total is $229.

Next, Click “Change Renewal Settings”

After clicking “Change Renewal Settings” you’ll get a popup allowing you toggle off auto-renewal. Once this is done you shouldn’t have to worry about your account renewing automatically in a year.

Bottom Line

Getting in on deals like these is often about combining good timing and a little luck. If you were lucky enough to get one free year of CLEAR membership do yourself a favor and do this now so you don’t end up with an expensive surprise in 12 months. Of course, if you love CLEAR then you can always pay for it when the bill comes due.

I wasn’t able to get the free year, but they did offer me three free months.
