CNB Crystal Visa Infinite Devaluation
The City National Bank Visa Infinite has long been a card that bursts onto our radar only to fade away again. It seems this year though things have been a bit different. I personally picked up the card recently and I have anecdotally heard from a lot of others who have as well. Perhaps that isn’t such a good thing, because there is a rumor of a CNB Crystal Visa Infinite devaluation and it isn’t good.

Losing One Of Its Biggest Perks?
One of the biggest selling points of the CNB Visa has been the travel credits (airline incidental credits). As of now here is how it works:
The primary cardholder and up to 3 additional users EACH gets an airline incidental credit of $250, meaning you can potentially get a total of $1K credit each year. Note: Some people have been able to get up to 4 authorized users and $1,250 in credit! :O
According to Doctor of Credit, this may be changing. The rumor is that the credit will change as follows:
- $350 airline incidental credit across all cards
- Authorized user cards which are now free may incur an additional fee as well
A Big Value Hit
This rumor comes from a Reddit user who claims to have been told this during a visit to a branch. While this is FAR from confirmed, it is unsurprising given the seemingly higher number of approvals lately. Either way this card would probably still be worth having, but I won’t try to pretend this wouldn’t be a huge hit to current cardholders.

[…] I was never close to a branch to apply. Now, the card cut the bonus and it’s rumored that some of the other benefits of the card might be getting reduced. Even with what remains, the card would still be a good value for the two of us and we’ll be […]
I love this card, and could live with the single $350 incidental credit if that is ALL they change.
