Cruise Deals Coronavirus
I just can’t seem to shake this strong desire to go on a cruise. While that might seem incredibly crazy to some of you, those deal lovers out there know what I am talking about. I have a history of booking such cruises as well. I really enjoyed my 2009 Swine Flu cruise, a fact that keeps luring me into booking one of these current deals.
I have been talking all week about some of the best cruise deals, however they have gotten even better. With the news of another Princess cruise ship being stranded off the coast of California, things seem to have changed. Most of the major cruise lines have now allowed free cancellations or changes meaning people are moving their vacations in droves and prices are DROPPING.
$44 for an ENTIRE Cruise
Don’t believe me? Well, if you are in Florida or California have I got the deal for you. How about a 4 day cruise for as little as $44 per person. Not $44 per day, but $44 (plus taxes/fees) for the entire cruise! Oceanview rooms are only a few dollars more. You might just have the whole ship to yourself as well!
Now these are both last minute deals, but there are a ton of others at less than $100 per person for 3-4 night cruises on both coasts. I am also seeing 7 night cruises from $199 per night, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them drop even further.
Finding the Best Cruise Deals
As of now cruise prices are changing/dropping drastically as demand is changing. I imagine a lot of people are cancelling which ensures the situation will be fluid. I personally wouldn’t be surprised if cruise lines end up cancelling sailings. Either way, here is how you can find the best discounted cruise deals right now due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
- Cruise Line websites – You can check directly for deals on a cruise line’s website. Make sure to check for any past cruiser discounts as well. Many cruise lines are offering incentives in addition to price discounts.
- Travel agents – Generally travel agents can book for you at the same price as the cruise line and often times they will throw in perks as well. I doubt the commission on a $44 cruise is great, but if you have a travel agent you use, having them search for the best fares is a good way to go. You can also have travel agents compete for your business on Cruise Compete.
- Book Last Minute – If you are looking to travel soon, make sure to check for last minute deals. The prices were low, but now they are rock bottom as these ships get ready to go out mostly empty.
- Good Resource – This is a travel agent, but they have a pretty good and updated list of all cruises. Right now you’ll see 7 day cruises as low as $199 in some spots and I would expect those prices to drop last minute as well. Check out the deals here.
Should You Go On A Cruise?
I am going to make this answer simple. Do what you are comfortable with. Let’s leave the discussions about what is right or wrong for another place/time and instead relish at these amazing prices, even if they come at a huge economic cost and a huge human one as well. Some people will be comfortable going on a cruise and those people will help to keep crew on these ships employed and the economy going. Others (probably most people) don’t feel the risk is worth it and that is completely understandable as well.
Either way, these deals are amazing.
Bottom Line
Carnival is pricing cruises as low as $44 per person and the other cruise lines have sub-$100 fares with lots of freebies thrown in. No matter if you are looking to save money on a fancier ship or want to cruise at bare bones prices, the deals are here. Up to 90% off in fact. And that isn’t just marketing this time.

Deal dead now. Booked a balcony room for $100. Well worth the extra $75 for that. Never had a balcony before, so looking forward to that.
When I find one to Cuba then I’ll go. Or do I wait until the elections for that
Tried to find this but only seeing $199 and up.
Nevemind. After joining their VIFP club, the price drops even further to just $25 PLUS you get $100 onboard credit 😀 This is truly insane!
Interesting. I joined the VIFP club too, and prices didn’t change. You do anything special?
Where are you seeing these prices? I looked on carnival.com, found that exact Baja cruise, and its $124, not $49. $124 obviously still a good deal, but I couldn’t find a single thing under $100.
How are coffin prices trending right now? Can I get 4x points for a pre-burial?
Costco has coffins starting at $900. An urn will set you back $90-$100. Starting next month, Discover will have 5% cash back at wholesale clubs. Just don’t die this month. Happy cruising!
Thanks for putting up the deal site. I found a lot of cheap deals and its my first time trying to go on a cruise. Is there any additional fees that applies beside the ones shown in the website?
Maybe pay a little extra and upgrade to a balcony… Would hate to be quarantined to an inside cabin under the disco :\
I say go for it! Plus you forgot to add in the extra perks in the event your quarantined at sea your $44 will extend to weeks extension with free room, food and ocean view. Why not you will still have power and internet with plenty of time for blogs and family time. There is no better deal with a high chance for extra perks out there.
