Delta Award Sale, Flights to Central and South America and More from 5K Miles

Delta has launched an unadvertised fare sale today cheap award fares to multiple destinations in the Americas. You can fly from several US cities to Mexico, Caribbean, Central America and South America starting at just 5,000 SkyMiles one way. You can find even cheaper fares for domestic travel.

There is no promotion page for these low fares, so you will need to search specific routes for travel over the next few months, and through early 2022. Use the Price Calendar on Delta’s website to quickly search for the lowest prices available.

Deals

Here are some of the lowest priced one-way awards that I found:

  • Las Vegas to Seattle starting at 3,500 SkyMiles (Sep/Oct)
  • Miami to Bogota starting at 5,000 SkyMiles (Aug/Sep/Oct/Nov)
  • Miami to Aruba starting at 5,500 SkyMiles (Aug/Sep/Oct/Nov/Dec)
  • NYC (JFK) to Bogota starting at 5,000 SkyMiles (Aug/Sep/Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan)
  • NYC (JFK) to Panama City starting at 5,000 SkyMiles (Dec/Jan)
  • NYC (LGA) to Miami starting at 5,000 SkyMiles (Oct/Nov)
  • NYC (JFK) to Montego Bay starting at 5,500 SkyMiles (Jan/Feb)
  • NYC (JFK) to Bahamas starting at 5,500 SkyMiles (Sep/Oct/Nov)
  • NYC (LGA) to Panama City starting at 6,000 SkyMiles (Jan/Feb)
  • Orlando to Bogota starting at 5,000 SkyMiles (Aug/Sep/Oct/Nov)
  • Orlando to Montego Bay starting at 5,000 SkyMiles (Aug/Sep/Oct)
  • Seattle to Chicago starting at 4,000 SkyMiles (Jan/Feb)

Conclusion

There are some good deals available, so take a look if you plan to travel in the next few months. Make sure you check  the fees, especially for the return leg. Also check other routes, besides the ones we listed above.

  1. Reminder that if you’re chasing status on Delta, award flights count toward MQMs in 2021 and 2022 so these sales can be very useful for that.
