Discover 2022 Bonus Calendar

Discover 2022 Bonus Calendar – 5% Cash Back Categories

Discover it offers 5% cash back bonuses on the first $1500 in spend each quarter (much like the Chase Freedom Flex card). This quarter for example you can earn 5% cash back at Amazon.com, Walmart.com and Target.com. But now we also know the Discover 2022 calendar of bonus categories. Let’s take a look!

Update 9/11/12: You can activate the 4th quarter now which is Amazon.com and digital wallets. The quarter kicks off October 1st. Don’t forget to activate for this quarter too if you haven’t already.

Discover 2022 Bonus Calendar – Familiar & Good

If you think these categories look familiar then you are not wrong. The Discover 2022 bonus calendar is quite similar to 2021. But there are a few changes. New for the upcoming year, is the addition of Fitness Clubs & Gym Memberships in Q1 and Digital Wallets in Q4.

This is move that makes sense given the current state of everything. More people are getting back to their normal lives including Fitness Clubs and Gyms. Digital Wallets and contactless payments in general have also become more popular. That addition also makes up for the removal of Walmart.com and Target.com from Q4.

Overall I think this is a solid calendar with plenty of opportunities to maximize your spend in each quarter.

Conclusion

I like the fact that Discover now publishes the full calendar ahead of time. This way you can better plan your spending throughout the year and maximize the cashback.

In the first quarter you get 5% on groceries, which is always popular. In the second quarter you get Gas Stations and Target, again quite popular. Then in Q3 there’s Restaurants and PayPal, with the latter opening up the opportunity to earn 5% everywhere PayPal is accepted. And last but not least you get Amazon.com and Digital Wallets in Q4, both great categories.

Discover it also has an increased bonus of $100 through referrals right now. That’s double the normal offer of $50. Plus all cash back is doubled during the first 12 months, including 5% categories.

Which Discover 2022 bonus category are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments.
