MtM Vegas – Durango Casino Delayed

On this episode we have a lot to discuss including a big delay for one of the new Vegas casinos. Before we dive in don’t forget to subscribe to the Miles to Memories YouTube channel to see every episode plus our Vegas reviews, guides and tours!

Today’s MtM Vegas Video

This week as Fontainebleau opened up reservations for their restaurants and announced how they will handle paid parking, the other new casino coming to the Las Vegas Valley announced a delay to its opening date. Durango was supposed to open on November 20, however the opening date has now been pushed back to December 5. It will still open before Fontainebleau, but with a shorter media window will it be a successful launch?

In other news Rio finally released the details of their buffet replacement food hall. We also discuss a high limit drink hack, which casinos whales like to play in the most, why cutbacks at Cosmo are affecting service and how Formula 1 hotel and ticket prices are plummeting as we get closer to race day.

  1. When The Cosmopolitan soft launched in December 2010, things quickly went bad. Over time, it righted itself and the teams running it became, in my opinion, the best on the Strip. Now, the majority of those individuals work for Fountainebleau (quick exit when MGM took over). When you call out The Cosmopolitan for losing their signature services, thank MGM Resorts International for welcoming The Cosmopolitan to their “show”., or, as I prefer to call it, their “homogenization”. Don’t worry, though, MGM is not finished. I am sure they can apply their special touch to The Cosmopolitan just like they do to the Luxor and Excalibur.
