Southwest Airlines has launched a new promotion today, offering double Rapid Rewards points for flights through mid fall. The promotion is targeted but is working for most Rapid Rewards members. Let’s see the details.

The Offer

Earn double Rapid Rewards® points when you register and book between June 16 and June 18, 2023, and then fly between June 16 and October 31, 2023. To register for this promotion, you will need to provide your Rapid Rewards account number at the time of registration.

Key Terms

  • Only the Rapid Rewards® Member who received this email/offer from Southwest Airlines® is eligible for this promotion. Offer is not transferable.
  • If you do not have a Rapid Rewards account number, you may register for an account by going online to Southwest.com/rapidrewards.
  • Member must register for this promotion between June 16 and June 18, 2023, and registration must be completed prior to commencement of travel.
  • Member’s Rapid Rewards account number must be entered at the time of booking Member’s qualifying flight to earn double Rapid Rewards points for that flight.
  • A qualifying flight is a one-way revenue flight on Southwest Airlines from a destination city, including any intermediate stops and/or connections, or a round trip revenue flight on Southwest Airlines from/ to a destination city and back to the originating airport or carrier-recognized co-terminal.
  • Rapid Rewards earned points are calculated using base fare. Member will receive 12 bonus points per dollar spent on Business Select® fares, ten bonus points per dollar spent on Anytime fares, eight bonus points per dollar spent on Wanna Get Away Plus® fares, and six bonus points per dollar spent on Wanna Get Away® fares. Bonus points are in addition to the standard flight points earned through Rapid Rewards.
  • Bonus points will not count toward A-List, A-List Preferred, or Companion Pass® qualification.
  • Member will receive bonus Rapid Rewards points within 72 hours after completion of entire ticket.

Conclusion

Southwest is offering double points on flights through October 31. In order to take advantage of this promotion you need to register and then book by Sunday.

It’s worth pointing out that bonus points will not count toward A-List, A-List Preferred, or Companion Pass qualification.

  1. I bought beau coup tickets during the three day sale, ending yesterday. Almost all prices went up today. So, logically, the tickets I bought are a much better deal than trying to rebook just for 2x points.

    But good if you are still looking to book some fares (if you can find good prices).

  2. If you already have a flight booked, can you cancel, then re-book and get these bonus points? Or will the Southwest system track the original flight and then same itinerary on a re-booked ticket? I will be testing this out.
