5% Portal Cashback at eBay

I cover eBay deals quite often here on Miles to Memories. Sometimes with portal cashback, eBay Bucks and credit card rewards you can save a ton of money. Add in discounted eBay gift cards and savings can be astronomical.

Traditionally portals generally only pay about around 1% for most purchases on eBay. That certainly is nice, but it isn’t life changing. Well Doctor of Credit recently discovered a new portal that is paying 5% back on eBay purchases.

This new portal is called Inbox Dollar and it is actually more than just a shopping portal. You can earn money from web searches, games, surveys and of course online shopping. To be honest none of the other stuff interests me at all, however 5% back on eBay purchases is something that is very attractive.

As I detailed in my shopping portal strategy, I really don’t like to try new portals whenever I can avoid it. Of course for 5% I probably would try, however there may be a better way. Oren’s Money Saver is reporting that at least one reader has successfully matched the 5% rate from Inbox Dollar to Top Cashback.

Over the next couple of days I plan to test Inbox Dollar to make sure everything works, but as long as Top Cashback is willing to match the 5% rate I think I will continue to use them since Inbox Dollar requires you login to your account every 10 days to stay active and they supposedly send out a ton of marketing emails. Not my cup of tea.

If you are interested in signing up for Inbox Dollar you can use my referral link and earn $5. You can also use referral links from Doctor of Credit or Oren’s Money Saver (their posts are linked above) or sign-up directly.

How to Request a Top Cashback Match

Top Cashback makes it very easy to submit a cashback claim. To do so simply visit this page and fill in the relevant information. They will want to know the merchant, date, URL, product purchased and any other relevant information. In my experience they respond fairly quickly to inquiries. Note you must make your eBay purchase through them first before requesting the match.

More options and higher payouts are always a great thing. In this case the payout for eBay purchases is jumping up 4-5X more than it has been which is significant. While I’ll test Inbox Dollar as a backup, I think I’ll stick with Top Cashback as long as they continue to match other portals payouts. Do you have any experience with Inbox Dollar? Have you successfully received a Top Cashback match? Let us know in the comments.

  1. I noticed this past weekend the had a offer 8% cash back Ebay rewards. I spent 90 dollars it should of been a bit over 7 dollars cash back but instead i got just over 5 dollars cash back. I did not have any shipping charges or tax so i am trying to find out why the lower amount.

  2. The TCB “submit a claim” link takes you to a page that doesn’t feature eBay as a valid merchant selection. Did they remove it?

  3. In the Terms & Conditions for Inbox Dollars it states “If a Member does not visit our website while being logged in or confirm a PaidEmail® at least one time within a 10-day period, their Account may become inactive. Payment Requests are removed if a Member’s Account becomes inactive.”

  4. They will ask you to complete a W9 once you’ve redeemed about $200 or so. You need to have at least $30 in order to be paid out. There’s a $3 fee for redemptions which they credit back to your account after you redeem unless you can get to $40 within 30 days. It’s hard to earn $30 in a short period of time
