Encore Boston Harbor Fine Hotels & Resorts

A few weeks ago, I enjoyed a one night stay at the Encore Boston Harbor.  While the stay was fine enough, I found the Encore Las Vegas superior.  The Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts benefits played a big role in why I stayed at the Boston property.  And the Amex Platinum credit made it an even better deal.  But it doesn’t stop there – the Encore Boston Harbor Fine Hotels & Resorts benefits were some of the best I’ve experienced.

These are the Encore Boston Harbor FHR benefits:

  • Early 12 noon check-in, when available.
  • Room upgrade upon arrival, when available.
  • Daily breakfast for two:  Breakfast credit of $80 daily at The Garden Cafe or in room dining.
  • Complimentary wi-fi.
  • Guaranteed 4 pm late checkout.
  • $100 property credit to be used during the stay.  Excludes Dunkin’ Donuts, gaming, and Watches of Switzerland.

My Take

The Encore Boston Harbor offers the expected FHR benefits, plus the most versatile property credit I’ve experienced yet.  The only disappointment was that a room upgrade was unavailable.  I was able to check in early for my stay – around 1 pm (based on my arrival).  I enjoyed my breakfast at The Garden Cafe despite having to send back the undercooked steak.  (The restaurant corrected it without issue.)  I was accidentally checked out early.  But the front desk resolved it, and I was able to stay in my room until 4 pm.  The complimentary wi-fi was a hollow FHR benefit – all hotel visitors obtain free wi-fi.

But the $100 property credit sits atop the Encore Boston Harbor Fine Hotels & Resorts benefits.  The credit can be used at bars, in room dining, a variety of shops, and all but two restaurants at the property.  Dining outlets range from cheaper, food court style to fine dining.  Overall, I enjoyed the food quality everywhere.

Conclusion

I easily plowed through the Encore Boston Harbor FHR benefits, and I can’t imagine anyone squandering credits.  While I think the Encore Boston Harbor property credit is better than the Encore Las Vegas spa credit, rates at the Boston property are about twice as much.  Like any Fine Hotels & Resorts stay, crunch the numbers and assess your goals prior to choosing the optimal property.  How was your Encore Boston Harbor FHR experience?

  1. Sounds like a nice place to stay. Also going to Boston but staying at the Hyatt Seaport district. Hope our stay is just as nice.
