Checked with my Hyatt Concierge and they didn’t know the answer so I thought I’d ask here…do you receive AA status immediately so you’ll have it while you are completing this challenge?
Domestically, if someone buys or redeems a first class ticket, one receives all of the benefits tier status offers (other than the higher award points earning rate). Domestically, tier status does not afford lounge access. But, there are several ways to obtain such access.
Internationally, if someone buys or redeems a business or first class ticket, the same applies and one receives lounge access. The other ways still apply.
For those favorably positioned with cash or points to do this, does airline tier status really matter?
