Finnair Enables Avios Transfers to British Airways Executive Club

Finnair Avios Transfer to British Airways Executive Club

The Finnair Plus program transitioned to using Avios on March 9, 2024, introducing new award charts. Now the airline has announced that as of May 22, members of both Finnair Plus and the British Airways Executive Club can link their accounts and transfer Avios between them.

Transferring Avios between your Finnair Plus and British Airways Executive Club accounts is free of charge. The value of Avios is the same in either program, meaning 1 Avios in Finnair Plus equals 1 Avios in the British Airways Executive Club. You can transfer your Avios between accounts as often as you like.

Linking your accounts allows you to combine the Avios you’ve collected in Finnair Plus, the British Airways Executive Club, and even other loyalty programs that use the same currency such as Iberia, Aer Lingus,  and Qatar Airways. However, at present, you can only link Finnair Plus to your British Airways Executive Club account.

In order to transfer Avios from Finnair Plus to British Airways Executive Club, you need ot follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Finnair Plus account.
  2. Enable two-factor authentication for both accounts.
  3. Make sure your first name and last name match on both accounts. If names don’t match, then contact customer service on either program to change your name.
  4. Link your accounts. Go to the Balance and transactions page of your Finnair Plus account. Select Link my accounts. You will be directed to British Airways’ website to complete the linking.
  5. Start transferring Avios. Select Transfer Avios on the Balance and transactions page of your Finnair Plus account. You will be directed to British Airways’ website to complete the transfer. Transfer are instant in most cases.
