Portals Stop Paying Cashback on Gift Card Purchases?

A few months ago, some shopping portals stopped paying out cashback for online purchase of Visa Gift Cards. Now there’s more bad news. Mastercard Gift Cards could see the same fate after some cashback has been clawed back.

No More Cashback on Gift Card Purchases?

According to The Flight Detective many people who use GiftCards.com for their gift card purchases received worrisome emails over the past couple of days. The email was titled “You had a return/credit on Yazing”. They clawed back cashback earned from gift card purchases since July 14th. This is an issue on the GiftCards.com side, so it will likely affect other portals as well. Even if cashback shows pending for now, it could very well not be paid out at all.

Conclusion

As of now, there’s no change in policy yet. Terms have not been updated, so they should be paying out that cashback. Hopefully it is just a glitch and not the end. I’m sure many readers have large balances that they are waiting on.

  2. Got the emails from Yazing over the weekend about this. Pretty disappointed not only for the upfront money potentially lost with these transactions being clawed back but also if this goes away moving forward. Was such a great option after visa card cashback went away. Stay strong Simon Mall 😉
