10 Best Paying Jobs For People Who Love to Travel

One of the greatest things about having this site is all of the interesting people who I get to chat with. While some of my readers are business travelers, many people are just hobbyists, AVGeeks or fall into another category. The one things that tends to bind everyone together though is their love of travel.

When I was younger, I often considered which professions would allow me to get paid to travel. Of course, having a family makes such a life difficult, but I have found a way to balance my need to travel with my family life.

For those who are still looking for a job to support a travel lifestyle, finding the best paying job/career may be important. Yesterday I found an article on Business Insider which lists the “Top 10 Highest Paying Jobs For People Who Love to Travel.”

The List

To figure out the totals, Payscale picked out jobs which require a large amount of travel and then ranked them by median income. Here is the list. Not to spoil anything, but being a travel blogger isn’t on there!

  1. Sales Director
  2. Management Consultant
  3. Airline Pilot/Copilot
  4. National/Strategic Accounts Manager
  5. International Sales Manager
  6. IT Consultant
  7. Regional Sales Manager
  8. Recruiting Manager
  9. Corporate Jet Pilot
  10. Helicopter Pilot

I find it interesting that most of these jobs are either sales or aviation related. You can find the full list along with the corresponding median incomes over at Business Insider.

  1. Mine IS on the list (#6). Though actually I am no longer a consultant, and even when I was, I didn’t travel much.

We have lots of consultants where I work now that definitely DO travel. We have people flying in to Cincinnati from Chicago or Toronto every week. In on Monday, out on Thursday, rinse, repeat
