Hilton Benefit Added to FoundersCard Plus Total Rewards Diamond Extended
FoundersCard members will now receive complimentary Hilton Honors Gold Status through March 31, 2018. This is a nice little perk for members since Gold status has some very valuable benefits. Members who regularly stay at Hiltons or have a Hilton vacation planned will certainly appreciate the upgraded status if they don’t have it yet. Unfortunately, the status is only applicable until March 31st. This means that many members will probably not see any benefit from this limited time perk. Although, Hilton Gold could be useful if someone runs a status match promotion. That would probably be a best case scenario.
Hilton Honors Gold Status is great and comes with several perks, including free breakfast at most Hilton brands. It also includes room upgrades, late checkout and free internet at participating hotels, subject to availability as well as a bonus on points earned. Members have to submit their Hilton number FoundersCard to receive their complimentary status upgrade.

Diamond Status Extended
Earlier this year there were rumors that FoundersCard may not renew their relationship with Total Rewards, but they ended up renewing it and extending Total Rewards Diamond Status for members. We covered the devaluation of Total Rewards Diamond Status in December and it’s indirect effect on the value of FoundersCard, but there is still value to be had from Diamond Status. You can still get the Diamond Rewards Dinner, free show tickets, parking and waived resort fees.
Conclusion
FoundersCard can be extremely valuable for members who use it right and can make use of membership’s many benefits. While Hilton Gold Status until March 31st isn’t a reason to sign up, it can certainly add some value. Many people use their membership for hotel discounts and utilize business offers, but the perk I hear the most about is Total Rewards Diamond Status and that will continue for 2018.

[…] FoundersCard Adds HIlton Gold Status For Members and Extends Total Rewards Status For Another Year […]
Hilton Gold has been there for quite some time. This article needs an edit big time. This is good to know that Diamond has been extended.
The Total Rewards extension is a good thing, since even just the resort fees + parking is $40-$50/day depending on your destination, plus the $100 reward dinner. I just hate not knowing that it’ll be renewed until less than a month before the expiration, particularly since I’m billed in early January and I always worry they’ll screw me over one year.
As for Hilton status, I have an email from when I threatened cancellation in March 2016 that says all elite statuses will expire at end of the cancellation month, and lists Hilton Gold as one of them. So it’s been there a while.
As a side note, everyone should be threatening to cancel each year because each time they’ve offered me a $50 Amazon.com/AmEx gift card or a comp Significant Other Membership. And they let you rejoin within 30 days at the same rate anyway if you do decide to pull the trigger.
Foundercard has offered HH Gold for a while, wish they would offer HH Diamond now that Hilton is offering it to anyone who gets their $450/year credit card.
That’s interesting, I just got the email saying it’s new… did it always say it expires on March 31st?
I think it’s smart for that Diamond status to remain on the credit card. That card looks to be worth it six ways to Sunday.
