Hilton Considering Amazon Redemptions At 1/2 Cent Each

Hilton points are not the most valuable currency in the miles and points game. Average value is probably close to 0.4 cents per points, but even that might be a bit generous. However we have now seen on a couple of occasions an opportunity to cash out Hilton points at 0.5 cents each at Amazon. The deal has come around two times and lasted only a few hours. Regular redemption rate for Hilton points on Amazon is only 0.2 cents, so that’s a huge boost.

Now Doctor of Credit reports of a survey sent out from Hilton that hints at this becoming a regular perk. The survey specifically mentioned this as an option for American Express Hilton cards, and even on the no annual fee version as well. That’s huge if it actually does happen.

Conclusion

Being able to regularly redeem Hilton points at half a cent each makes all Hilton cards bonuses instantly better. Amex Hilton cards have recently had bonuses ranging from 100,000 to 150,000 points. That becomes $500 to $750 in Amazon credit. Earning rates on these cards also become better.
