Hong Kong Airport Shuts Down As Protesters Storm Inside
Crazy news coming out of Hong Kong, and you should be paying attention if you have any travel plans through HKG. New York Post reports that Hong Kong’s airport canceled all flights Monday after thousands of pro-democracy protesters stormed into the main terminal of one of the world’s busiest travel hubs.
“Airport operations at Hong Kong International Airport have been seriously disrupted … all flights have been canceled,” the city’s airport authority said in a statement. “All passengers are advised to leave the terminal buildings as soon as possible.”
Protests have been going on for a while now in Hong Kong, forcing the US and other countries to issue a travel advisory for the region. The demonstrations began in opposition to a bill allowing extradition to the mainland but have widened to highlight other grievances.

cx8873 and ka212 still on time
No one “stormed” the airport. The sit in has been on for three days and extended to today after police shot a medic in the eye and blinded her for life last night.
Not medic, she was with the thugs that occupied my neighborhood and attacked police with Molotov. Get your facts straight.
” attacked police with Molotov”? No idea what are you talking about but clear to me that who are the thugs and who need to get the facts straight.
Apologies to all travelers that may have been inconvenienced by this protest. But this is the critical moment for Hong Kong people to fight this “thuggish regime”. So please bear with us for now.
