Amex Did Not Drop Qantas As A Transfer Partner
There was some concern yesterday after Qantas Frequent Flyer briefly disappeared from the list of American Express Membership Rewards transfer partners. The disappearance led to speculation that Amex may have quietly dropped Qantas as a transfer partner.
However, the partner later reappeared on the Amex transfer partner page, suggesting nothing had actually changed. Qantas remains listed as an active Membership Rewards transfer partner.
To get clarification, I reached out to American Express directly and received a simple response: “It was just a tech glitch!” According to Amex, the temporary disappearance was not related to any partnership changes and was simply a technical issue.
While that’s good news for anyone holding Membership Rewards points, it also serves as a reminder that transfer partner pages can occasionally have errors that spark rumors before the full story is known.
For now, it appears Qantas transfers are safe and there are no announced plans to remove the airline from the Membership Rewards program.
