Hoopla Doopla Review – Shopping Portal
I’ve long used Cashback Monitor to check for the best shopping portal payout rates. Mainly because I find the site to be accurate and easy to navigate. They also do a good job of keeping up with new portals that pop up. Admittedly I try to limit my use of new portals, because it often ends up being a hassle but recently I finally broke down and tried a new one. In this Hoopla Doopla review I’ll go over my experiences and show you what it’s like to use this new portal.
Hoopla Doopla – Better Rates Than Many
In the course of my reselling business I use portals a lot. Right now there are a ton of airline portal bonuses, but I have maxed all of those out for my family. So when a portal I had never heard of (Hoopla Doopla) offered 5% cash back at Walmart, I had to give it a try. I figured I would share my results.
I tested Hoopla Doopla and it’s 5% cashback at Walmart (better than any other portal by 1% on the day I shopped) this past week. Through several transactions the portal tracked 100% of the time and the cashback went pending into my account.
While I do wish their site showed the full transaction amount and the cashback percentage, I can figure those things out. The most important thing for a shopping portal is for the transactions to track properly and it seems to have worked well here.
Hoopla Doopla Review – Pros & Cons
My overall shopping portal strategy has me limiting the number of portals I use mainly because it becomes too much to track. Considering Hoopla Doopla (our referral link) now has very competitive rates across many stores and also seems to work well, I will consider them for future purchases. I generally pick the highest portal among the ones I use when shopping, so Hoopla Doopla will now be in the mix.
Here are some of the pros and cons of Hoopla Doopla:
Pros
- Competitive cash back rates
- Fast tracking based on my experience
Cons
- The site could show more information
- If you have a lot of similar transactions it could be difficult to see which ones tracked
- Their overall long term customer service and payout experience isn’t something known to me yet
Hoopla Doopla Review – Bottom Line
Hoopla Doopla is offering competitive cash back across many stores this holiday season and I plan to use them when they have the highest rate. I’ve used Hoopla Doopla many times now at Walmart and once at Kohl’s with success and am glad to have another portal in my arsenal.

Hoopla Doopla is a SCAM! They will never give you the cashback owed to you and make up some random excuse blaming the merchant etc. I had taken screenshots of every single piece of evidence including purchase time, amount, store details etc. I went back and forth around 12 times with their customer support with all this evidence and yet they refused to pay.
Do not use Hoopla Doopla if you value your sanity and want to keep your stress levels in check!
I’ve been using Hoopla for several years. Due to payout timing, I remember the first one was a bit tough to wait for, but after that, it is like clockwork each quarter. Kind of like a savings account. Considering their rates compared to competitors and positive experience, I will continue to use.
they’re a scam
i don’t trust hoopla doopla.
I used them this summer for a large purchase item (>$1000) and they were the only portal for the site. The payback amount was good. But the payout is what keeps me from doing much with them. They only pay 4x a year. I purchased in early June. My payout was in late October. No issues once it was available, but it goes into pending status anywhere from 1-4 months depending on timing.
