The Hyatt Rebate Is Posting Quickly

Last week my wife and I enjoyed a fantastic last minute getaway to Kauai where we stayed at the Grand Hyatt Kauai. I’m not going to lie, there were two major factors that solidified our decision to take this trip. First, I am a Diamond Gold Passport member thanks to completing the Hyatt Diamond trial last year (which means upgraded room, lounge access and more) and second, Hyatt is currently running a 20% rebate for holders of their co-branded credit card through 7/31/15.

Since I have a number of upcoming Hyatt stays using points, I actually applied for and was approved for the credit card shortly after the promotion was announced. In case you are interested, here is my review of the card along with a trick to get a bonus $50 statement credit.

How Long Does it Take for the Bonus to Post

The bonus posted one week after checkout.

After reading about points posting quickly over at View from the Wing, I checked my account this morning to find 20,000 freshly minted Hyatt Gold Passport points. I checked out of the Grand Hyatt Kauai on 2/25 and the 20% bonus points posted yesterday. A 7 day turnaround isn’t too bad.

How to Take Advantage

You can still take advantage of this offer as long as you get the Chase Hyatt card and register for the promotion by 3/31. Instead of calling in (which you can do too), I just sent @HyattTweets a direct message on Twitter with my account details.

Since I had just applied for the card, they suggested I check back in a week once it reflected on my account. After a week I sent another DM on Twitter and the bonus was added. Keep in mind that the rebate is paid retroactively as long as you register by 3/31.

Conclusion

I really do love Hyatt and stay at their properties all of the time. While it can be frustrating that they don’t quite have the footprint of other chains, their properties are great and the corporate team seems to know what they are doing. Not only have they given us one of the best hotel promotions in recent memory, but they have made it simple and easy!

    • Yes you can! They have told me that all rebates will be paid retroactively as long as you are registered by 3/31. In fact, my account wasn’t registered until after the stay in Hawaii and I still received the bonus very quickly!
