Hyatt #WhySettle Promotion
As someone who both loves Hyatt and strives to keep their top tier Diamond status, I stay in a lot of their properties. Sure there are the sexy properties like the those in Hawaii or the California Coast, but the truth is the majority of my stays are made up of nights at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House locations. These brands aren’t the sexiest, but I find their properties to be among the best in the limited service category.
Since so many business travelers no doubt find themselves staying at these brands as well, Hyatt Place and Hyatt House are running an advertising campaign called #WhySettle. Here is how they describe it:
Every day business travelers fly to new cities, working hard to secure important deals, meet new clients and help grow their businesses. Every night they stay up late to work on presentations, put the final touches on a critical speech and work tirelessly to tackle overflowing inboxes to keep up with work while on the road.
And though they’re away from family and friends, these movers and shakers continue to push forwards with a can-do attitude and “why settle” spirit. No challenge stopping them from reaching their goals – they have come too fare to settle now.
Win 2 Free Nights and a Statue
Through October 25, 2016 Hyatt Place and Hyatt House are asking friends, family and colleagues to nominate people they think are worthy of a #WhySettle Spirit Award. The winner will get a statue created in their likeness and most importantly a free two-night stay at a Hyatt Place or Hyatt House in the continental United States.
My Award
While I was traveling in Asia a few weeks ago I was informed that I had won a #WhySettle award. I don’t believe anyone entered me and I do think Hyatt decided to give it to me based on my experiences shared on the blog, but I am not 100% sure. I will say that I wasn’t given any compensation or even a prize, but I’ll take the cool statue anyway.
As for it being a likeness of me, they definitely got the cellphone right, but my statue is definitely missing my signature red backpack! I forgive them though. Oh, and in case you are wondering, the only reason I am writing this is because I think readers could find the prize useful. I made no promises to Hyatt that I would write about this promotion nor am I receiving anything for writing this post.

1. “My award” — a measly trinket, right down their with wearing somebody else’s logo on your shirt….

so what did you get? JUST the statue? I thought you get free nights too. no? wasnt too clear in your post. Would be stupid to win the award but not get the full prize which includes 2 free nights right?

How Cool! Maybe a statue of David with the cell phone covering the private parts would be even better 😉 I hate applying for things on Facebook though.
