Japan Airlines Will Rent You Clothes
Japan Airlines (JAL) has launched a clothes-sharing trial. The Japanese flag carrier hopes that this service will result in less luggage and it will the environment and create an all-round easier traveling experience. It can also result in savings for customers who might pay baggage fees.
The “Any Wear, Anywhere” trial is currently underway for travelers to Japan, run by Japan Airlines in partnership with Sumitomo Corporation.
During the initial trial from July 5, 2023, through to August 31, 2024, passengers will be able to rent a set of clothes for the entire duration of their stay in Japan. Pricing starts at just $28 for up to two weeks, and can go as high as $48.
Travelers can rent up to eight outfits and choose between three sizes, small, medium and large. They can also choose between smart, smart casual or mixed styles. The chosen attire will be delivered to a customer’s designated hotel.
To sign up for the service, you must visit the airline’s ‘Any Wear, Anywhere’ website at least one month before your flight. You must enter your flight reservation number, arrival, and departure dates, and accommodation details, followed by a payment. You can then pick up and drop off your clothes at your hotel.
“With more and more people flying again after the COVID-19 pandemic, and with the recent emphasis on sustainability, there is a growing movement around the world to promote sustainable tourism,” Japan Airlines said in its press release.
