Hurry! JetBlue Offering Free Changes with No Fare Difference

JetBlue is currently offering the option to make changes to your itinerary with no fee and you don’t have to pay for the fare difference either. This is something that we see from Southwest from time to time.

JetBlue is officially offering free changes in January. But, probably unintentionally, it is also waiving the fare difference. This is working online.

How it Works

This is working for January travel only. You can change your flight to any other later date with no change fee or difference in fare. It will not work on all routes or dates, so it’s best to just book one-way as it is easier to get this done.

Start with the JetBlue Best Fare Finder to find the cheapest dates in January. Book that flight and then go to change your itinerary to a later date when you actually want to fly. To do this, go to “Manage your flight” and click “Change itinerary” at the bottom.

You should see no extra charges for the change, just a total of $0.00.

You can’t change the route, you can only change dates. The original booking and the rebooked flight will have to be in the same class. This will not work on awards or codeshare flights.

Conclusion

This is a quite rare offering from JetBue, and probably unintentional. It will not last long so start booking now to take advantage of this unique opportunity. Keep in mind that if you book a flight more than 7 days from now, JetBlue will give you a full refund within 24 hours. So there’s no risk in trying it out.

Cheap JetBlue flights, usually under $100, will usually trigger the Amex Platinum airline incidental fee credit. So you could get a flight worth hundreds of dollars for free.
