Interesting podcast, thanks.
Excellent podcast, guys!
The importance of alternative viewpoints is enhanced by the reaction of the “establishment,” and how dare you depart from the gospel, and lead the flock astray.
Ultimately, travel is extremely individual, and this should be incorporated into the blogs, as the patent conflict of interest many “influencers” have.
Thanks. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Doc. It is crazy how quite a few people in this space refuse to see another person’s point of view.
Thanks for the “different voices and opinions matter” and “don’t let your elite status be your identity” discussion. As well as “what’s right for YOU” as opposed to joining the bandwagon.
I had hoped that the “community” would be more like “crowd-sourcing” collaboration as opposed to “group-think” or worse. But, the “community” seems intolerant of sharing of alternative views. Indeed, some commenters harshly criticize voices that promote alternatives to the hamster wheel system status quo. Perhaps, as you noted, these individuals have vested interests in the business. Ultimately, these conflicts of interest compromise the information that circulates in the community.
Just once, I’d like to see a blog do an honest and critical run-down of all the gripes with the hotel loyalty programs and say that the programs simply aren’t living up to their promises as a whole.
Great point on crowd sourcing collaboration. That is the way I feel it should be too.
