New Delta Sky Club DTW
The last few times I have flown out of Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) I have noticed a new Delta Sky Club DTW being built across from the main Sky Club. McNamara Terminal, where Delta is based, has always had 3 Sky Club lounges in concourse A. There was the main location located right in the center of the concourse, just after you clear security. Then there were two more at each end of the concourse. Basically everywhere the tram stops has a Delta lounge.
The two on the ends were pretty small, a fraction of the size of the main one in the center of concourse A. Recently, I have noticed the main lounge overrun, and it appears Delta has noticed that too. That must be why they built a new boutique Delta Sky Club lounge directly across the shopping area from the main lounge. Think of it as an overflow lounge so to speak.
Rick, our friend from Travel on Point(s), checked it out yesterday during a layover and shared some pictures with us. He said it can fit around 100 people and was a bit cramped, not surprising it being the new hotness and all.
New Delta Sky Club DTW Location
The entrance for the new boutique Delta Sky Club at DTW is across from Gate A43. An easier landmark would be right by the Fountain Bar and the fountain made famous by George Clooney in Up In The Air. It is also directly across the shopping area from the main Sky Club lounge. The Michigan Sports store is another landmark right around the corner.
Pictures Of The Lounge
Here is what you came for, pictures of the actual lounge. Rick’s thoughts on the lounge were as follows:
“It’s “cute” boutique like, cool artwork, and I’m liking the fancy looking dessert section. It overlooks the tram and other main Sky Club. ”

New Delta Sky Club DTW – Final Thoughts
A new lounge at my home airport, that will always be a win for me! I think it is a win for many travelers though since so many Delta flights connect through Detroit. With all of Delta’s status rollovers, although I can’t complain too much, and Amex giving away points like candy on their Platinum products overcrowding isn’t surprising. The need for more space in Detroit has been pretty obvious over the last year or so and this should help quite a bit. I imagine the main lounge will somewhat get back to normal capacity levels with many people looking to check out the new boutique location.
Thanks again to Rick, our friend from Travel on Point(s), for sharing this with us.

You know how you have to show your boarding pass for most airline lounge access these days. Since it’s Delta maybe they’ll exclude basic economy customer boarding passes from access.
