New Seattle Centurion Lounge Coming Soon

American Express will close the current Centurion Lounge at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport at the end of the month. The reason for the closure is to transfer operations at the new and improved location in the the mezzanine level of the Central Terminal.

The upgraded lounge was first announced back in early 2021. Back then American Express said the the lounge would triple in size to over 13,800 square feet and relocate to the mezzanine level. With a spacious entrance opening to the Central Terminal, the lounge will feature new seating areas that capitalize on the open-air atrium location.

This expanded lounge will provide views of the airfield and Olympic Mountains, additional restrooms, private phone rooms and noise-buffering workspaces, cozy nooks, and more. The original opening date was set for late 2022.

To make the transition, the current lounge will close later this month. Here’s the message that is now showing on the Centurion Lounge website:

Please note, the current lounge located in Concourse B will close permanently at 7pm on January 29th as we prepare to open a brand-new Centurion Lounge on the mezzanine level of the Central Terminal. We look forward to welcoming eligible Card Members to our new lounge in the coming weeks.

American Express couldn’t share an exact date for the reopening as of yet, so we’re not sure how long Platinum cardholders will have to look for other options at SEA.
